This roast is good sliced up and served with potatoes and vegetables on the side. Or it can be shredded and placed on a bun for a delicious sandwich.
In a small dish, combine the garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. Rub roast with these spices and let sit for five minutes.
Spray slow cooker with a non-stick cooking spray. Place the roast in the slow cooker.
In a small bowl, combine the water, brown sugar, onion soup mix and chopped onions. Stir together and pour over the beef roast.
Cover and cook for 6 - 8 hours on the low setting. Check the meat and allow to cook until it reaches 160°.
