Classic Slow Cooker Chili

If you search for a new chili recipe on the internet every time it's time to make it, then you obviously haven't found the right recipe yet.  Well, now you have!  You'll want to save this one to make over and over and over again.

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 large onion
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground oregano
  • 1/2 tablespoon seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 15 ounce can diced tomatoes
  • 15 ounce can tomato sauce
  • 15 ounce can light kidney beans
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 8 ounces beef broth
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

Fry the ground beef with the onion in a frying pan on the stove top.  Once browned, add the next six spices and the water.  Stir to mix spices into the meat and simmer for three minutes.

Put the meat into the crockpot and add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, kidney beans, salt, pepper, beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.  Stir well and let cook on low for 6 - 8 hours.  The longer the better.

Serve with toppings such as cheddar cheese and sour cream.
