Cream Cheese and Sausage Dip

My plan was to start making different dips every Sunday for the football games.  I figured by the end of the season, I'd have a good variety of dips on my site.  Problem was, everyone liked this recipe so much they requested it every time!

  • 1 pound Jimmy Dean sausage, hot or mild depending on your taste
  • 2 - 8 ounce blocks of cream cheese
  • 1 15-ounce can of Ro-tel

Brown the Jimmy Dean sausage and drain the meat.  Place in a slow cooker.

Dump in the blocks of cream cheese and the can of Ro-tel.  Cook on low for one hour and then stir all ingredients together.  You can serve at this point or hold on low until ready to serve.

** Cook's Note **
If you don't have a can of Ro-tel, it works equally well to use a 15-ounce can of diced tomatoes (undrained) and a 4-ounce can of green chilies.
